The development represents the first phase of town centre development for Burntwood. The scheme will attract shoppers from a catchment area of 10 – 30 minutes drive time and will also better meet local needs for retail and leisure uses by reference to the emerging Local Development Framework and Burntwood Area Action Plan.

The existing Morrisons store situated adjacent to the site has a gross floor space of 4,582 sq.m (49,318 sq.ft) and 380 parking spaces, with planning consent to expand the store to 7,706 sq.m (82,947sq.ft) and 419 car spaces.

Phase 1 will comprise 16 single storey retail units of varying sizes with a minimum clear height of 6.5 metres with a total gross external retail area of 9,683 sq.m (104,288 sq.ft).

The development will include an ancillary management suite, provision of public toilets and an information service for shoppers.

A total of 391 car parking spaces including 21 mobility spaces will be provided.

Enhanced bus services will be provided.
